FELLOWSHIP REPORT
11.28.2008

Good news! We’ve recently done a simple demographic of our church, which continues to grow each week even though we’re on the move. The news is that just over 30% of our fellowship is now under 35 years of age. This is historically a great indicator for church growth, as the age group between 20 – 35 are the ones who typically become the most excited about Jesus and their faith, and are truly hungry for God. They’re inviting their friends, and again, even on the move as we are still having at least 3 visitors each Sunday! That’s awesome!

Help Us Save St. Marks

Sunday Oct 19th 2008 was our last Sunday service at St, Marks, N. Audley Street, Mayfair, London after 15 years, and on Wednesday Oct 22nd we were “walked out” of the church by the London Diocese, Church of England. Locksmiths were standing by to put new locks on the church, and very sadly the Diocese went to the great length of putting chain link fencing across the entire front of this famous Grade 1 listed place of worship, featuring one of the most unique Greek Revival style facades in all of London to disallow anyone to approach the building. We have since learned they did not get planning permission to put the chain fencing up at all.

The battle continues for St Marks to remain a house of worship, and the war is FAR from over! God is doing remarkable things in the background, so watch this space!

The location and time is:
Westminster City Council
17th Floor
64 Victoria Street

Remember to stay in faith, and continue giving thanks unto our great and wonderful God!

London Church Hangs On Admist Opposion

CWN.org - LONDON - A recent poll shows that most Britons think Christianity will have vanished from the United Kingdom within the next 100 years.

Many of the nation's great churches stand empty or are being sold off, but one congregation is fighting that.

This sanctuary once echoed the sermons of Britain's great abolitionist preachers. In the critical days of World War Two, Supreme Allied Commander Dwight Eisenhower sat in this church and very likely prayed for the success of the D-day invasion. And it's said that British leaders discussed the future state of Israel here.

After being closed down by the Church of England in the 1970s, St. Mark's Church in London's West End was adopted by an evangelical congregation, Commonwealth Church.
