One statement that is often used in describing leadership and its results, is that “water runs downhill.” That simply translated means what is in the heart and character of the leaders, will naturally and ultimately be transferred to those whom they lead. That being true, it should create within the hearts of any leaders, the desire to be all that they can be in their personal relationship with Almighty God, and to keep themselves at a place of committed consecration before the altar of God in purity, purpose and integrity.
Whatever Rod & Julie Anderson are, is the result of having been wonderfully blessed in their first years as Christians. To sit under some of God’s very best apostles, prophets and teachers, who instilled in them a radical love for Jesus, a passion for heartfelt prayer, and a desire see God’s kingdom expand and be experienced, was the grace of God.
Rod & Julie both have radical testimonies of the Lord’s extreme grace towards them in redeeming them from a life of bondage to the things of this world. Rod; from drug addiction and prison, and Julie from the insanity of living in the very top echelons of the rock'n'roll world, and being in the heart of the ‘swinging sixties’ in London. They are forever grateful for this redemption, they understand the reality of this redemption, and they know this same redemption is available to whosoever will come to Jesus. They therefore have a longing within themselves, to communicate this amazing grace in every possible way.
Today Rod & Julie live with one desire, to see God’s people established into intimacy with God, committed to living in community with one another, and passionate about being Christlike, sharing Jesus with others and expanding the Kingdom of God.
At Commonwealth Church, therefore we carry the following primary values:
- When God said to love one another, He meant it.
- When God said to worship Him in spirit and in truth, He meant it.
- When God said His house would be a joyful house of prayer, He meant it.
- When God said to earnestly covet the gifts of the Spirit, He meant it.
- When God said He had given us authority over all the power of the enemy, He meant it.
- When God said to go into all the world and make disciples, He meant it.
Through His grace, His strength and His anointings, our goal at Commonwealth Church is to be a company of believers who flow voluntarily with these values, who diligently seek the Father’s heart at all times, and who intentionally live lives of celebration, sacrifice and praise.
If this feels good in your spirit, we’d love to have you with us on this incredible journey of faith, until He comes again.
